Self-Employment (Short)

The simplified self-employment supplementary page, for straightforward sole trader businesses.

What it's for

Reports your self-employment turnover, a consolidated view of your business expenses, and the resulting profit or loss that feeds into your overall tax calculation.

Who uses it

Sole traders whose business turnover is £90,000 or below for the tax year (the VAT registration threshold) — this covers the majority of ClearYear's self-employed customers.

What we ask you for

  • Business description and dates
  • Turnover (total self-employment income)
  • Expenses, grouped into standard categories
  • CIS deductions already taken off your pay, if applicable
  • Net profit or loss for the year

Limits & things to know

ClearYear automatically uses this form when your self-employment income is £90,000 or below. If your income is above that, we automatically switch to the Full version (SA103F) instead — no action needed from you.
